I remember when I first discovered mixed-media art. It was an instant connection. The idea that I could use a mix of materials on my artwork was reassuring. As a traditional painter, I had always longed to add little snippets to my art. A plethora of resources are available for the mixed-media artist. Collage materials may be purchased or found. You may choose to use a combination of materials or stay true to one. Embellishments: beads, buttons, glitter, jewelry findings and textiles

Ephemera: brochures, letters, playbills, postcards and tickets

Paper: acetate, art paper, bond, construction, found paper, craft, reflective, Rub-onz transfer film, parchment, shrink film and vellum

Photography: photo prints, slides and film
